Alchemy is assisting a well-established moving company with their search for a General Manager within the moving and relocation industry in Otero County, NM

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing all facets of the sales and operations of the moving services the company provides.
  • Supervise, encourage, and monitor staff members' work to ensure consistent high-quality output.
  • Take the lead in boosting sales and production.
  • Exceeding all financial, sales, and profit targets.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures that will increase the effectiveness of the moving and storage activities.
  • Ensuring that the company maintains a culture of health and safety at work and complies with operating standards.
  • To detect, address, and resolve any issues related to business performance to create a more efficient and successful operation.
  • Give employees room to improve, periodically evaluating their current proficiency and launching new training programmes.
  • Keeping up with changes and commercial patterns in the relocation, storage, and moving industry.
  • Demonstrating your knowledge of the relocation industry, the local market, and the behaviours of clients and competitors.
  • Ensuring that every employee is aware of the goals of the organisation and delivers consistent high-quality service that conforms with quality standards.


Requirements of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Previously held a general manager or operations position in the moving sector.
  • An outstanding communicator who is comfortable working with all levels of staff and management. 
  • Strong operational and sales background in office moves, specialised moving, storage, and door-to-door household goods transportation. 
  • Incredibly well-organized, possessing management and leadership abilities. 
  • Strong sales and commercial business skills.
  • While a high school diploma is necessary, an associate's or bachelor's degree is advised. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and strong IT skills.
